Kelly's Cycle Challenge 2019 - Terms & Conditions

Completion of an entry form on line or on the day by the participant acknowledges acceptance of these terms and conditions by the participant:

1)
The participant accepts that the event they are entering is not a race in any format. Results will be published in alphabetical order only. Anyone seen to be competing against others will be stopped from riding.

2)
The participant is fully responsible for their actions whilst attending the event. This includes at the event venue and during the ride itself. Kelly's Charity Events does not accept responsibility for the actions of the participant nor the consequences of such actions.

Each participant, upon signing the registration form agrees that they are physically fit and mentally capable of riding the distance they have chosen.

If during the event the participant decides to change their route and distance then all consequences of this action are theirs.

5)
The event registration form must be completed by a person aged 18 years or over. On the day, proof of age may be requested. Participants under the age of 18 years will be allowed to participate in the event with the consent of their parents or legal guardian who must sign the event registration form on behalf of the under age rider. Signing is also an acceptance for the actions and consequences of the under age rider. Under 16s need to be accompanied at all times by an adult who is responsible for them.

It is mandatory that all riders wear a safety approved cycling helmet complying with latest ANSI Z90/4 or SNELL standards. Any rider not wearing a helmet will not be allowed to participate. Kelly's Charity Events reserves the right to refuse entry to the event to anyone with inappropriate equipment or clothing.

The participant confirms that the cycle/bike they are using for the event and all of their equipment is of a suitable condition and appropriate to complete the distance they have selected.

During the event there will be warning signs at appropriate points on the route. Absence of these signs does not mean there are no dangers approaching. It is the participant's responsibility to assess whether or not it is safe to continue.

Any marked route is shown for guidance only. It is the responsibility of the participant to follow the route markers.

The event is not on closed roads and is on public and private highways. As such cyclists should ride in a reasonable manner that is appropriate to the roads they are on and always abide by the Highway Code, which can be accessed here: 

You are requested to ride in single file where appropriate and no more than 2 abreast at any time. Please be aware of your fellow cyclists and please extend all reasonable courtesy to other road users. Please indicate your intention to stop or change direction.

Kelly's Storage Charity Events reserves the right to shorten or alter the published route at any time.

The Participant must return the time chip to the chip time suppliers at the finish line. If the chip is lost or not returned, the cost of the chip will be met by the participant.

13)
The participant must inform the event director or one of the members of the event crew if they intend not to complete the distance. Not doing so will mean a search may be organized to find them.

14)
Kelly's Storage Charity Events reserve the right to cancel the event due to extreme weather conditions. If this occurs, the event will be re-scheduled.

15)
Each participant agrees to assign and grant the right and permission for Kelly's Storage Charity Events to use and publish any photographs/electronic representations of the participant. The participant releases Kelly's Storage Charity Events from any and liability from such use and promotion. The participant waives any right to any compensation they may have for appearing in any of the photographs.

Your personal information will only be used by us, the event organiser and any appointed third parties for purposes in connection with the event and any subsequent events that we may organise or administer. You will contacted by the nominated charity, Challengers. By entering the event you grant full and irrevocable permission for us to pass any medical details you have given us to the medical teams operating on the day of the event. For further information please refer to our Privacy Policy which can be viewed on our website.

Much of our communication in respect of events is likely to be done by email. Please note that we cannot be responsible if any communication, which is correctly addressed and sent, is not received by the intended recipient. Please ensure that any spam filters etc are set to ensure that emails from us will be received by you.
