What to Bring to the Sportive
Bike helmet (essential...no one can ride without one!), padded shorts, cycle jersey. If it's wet, you'll need a waterproof / windproof jacket.
Your bike, spare inner tube, multi-tool, tyre levers, pump, water bottle.
BIKES MUST BE EVENT READY - We recommend you have your bike serviced by your local bike shop at least 1 week before the event, particularly if you haven't used it lately. There will be bike mechanic on hand for basic, last minute tweaks but not for total bike rebuilds or fixing wheels. So you should make sure your bike is in good order before you ride.
Suitable Bikes: All routes are suitable for road bikes, hybrids, bromptons and mountain bikes BUT for road cycling consider replacing your mountain bike tyres with thinner road ones. This will make your life a lot easier on the day!
TT bikes are not allowed on this event. It is not a race and there is a possibilities that riders will find themselves riding in groups and drafting behind each other. TT bars do not have direct access to breaks and therefore increase the risk to the rider and others.
